Kylian Mbappe flattered by Jurgen Klopp’s personal move in registering interest

According to Le10sports.com (h/t Mirror), French superstar Kylian Mbappe has admitted to being ‘flattered’ that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp called his father to register his interest in signing him.

Liverpool have continued to be linked to the PSG wonderkid amidst talk of Real Madrid’s interest in Sadio Mane. The Senegalese superstar is one of the Reds’ key players and not easy to replace. Given his quality, it is no surprise that Mbappe is considered to be a viable replacement for the Liverpool number 10.

The 21-year-old is already one of the world’s most dangerous attackers and will cost Liverpool around £250million. Just one more reason to make the transfer look unrealistic.

It was earlier reported that Klopp had gotten in touch with the player’s father to discuss a potential transfer. The report goes on to reveal that Mbapp was flattered when told of the same by his father.

It is not just the asking price that is a restraining factor. PSG midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed that Mbappe is happy at the club and has no intention of leaving. The Spaniard’s revelation should not come as a surprise considering his affinity to PSG and our arch-rivals Manchester United.

Having joined the French champions in 2017, Mbappe has gone from strength to strength at the Parc des Princes. Forming a daunting triumvirate along with Neymar and Edinson Cavani, the 21-year-old has gone on to score an incredible 90 goals and 49 assists in 120 appearances.

Mbappe’s current contract at PSG runs until 2022. In spite of talks being held regarding an extension, nothing has been signed yet.

Although it would be a dream come true to see the Frenchman don the famous red shirt. At the moment at least, it seems implausible.
