Liverpool agree deal for Watford star Ismaila Sarr

Liverpool’s high level of activity in the summer transfer market has surprised even the most optimistic of fans. Having started the campaign with Kostas Tsimikas as the only new arrival, expectations of a strong title defence weren’t exactly sky-high.

Now though, with the additions of players like Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara, things are looking on the up in Merseyside. The latest player that Liverpool have seemingly courted is Watford speedster, Ismaila Sarr. (h/t Mirror)

According to a report by France Football (h/t Mirror), Liverpool have agreed on a deal to bring Sarr to Anfield this season. The 22-year-old’s agent is reportedly discussing personal terms with the Reds after the clubs agreed a £32m transfer fee.

Sarr is a Senegalese winger who was brought to the Premier League by the recently-relegated Watford side last summer. Despite having been at the club for just one season, Sarr managed to make quite the impression in England.

Not only is he an adventurous player who likes to take defenders on, but he’s also capable of producing goals in important moments. Jurgen Klopp got to witness that attribute of his play firsthand last season when Liverpool were outclassed by Watford to hand the Reds their first defeat of the season.

The former Rennes man’s direct approach to the game resembles that of his international teammate Sadio Mane. And together, they would be able to produce amazing results for the Reds.

The acquisitions of Jota this summer and Takumi Minamino last winter were both made in an attempt to add more depth to the Liverpool front-line. While Jota is yet to enter the scene, Minamino has failed to live up to expectations so far.

Sarr, having played in the Premier League last season, will be a lot more aware of what to expect. The 22-year-old undoubtedly has a massive future ahead of him. And under the guidance of Klopp, Liverpool could be the perfect place for him to hone his amazing skills.
