A report by 90min (h/t Express) claims that Liverpool and Manchester United have both asked La Liga side Sevilla to keep them informed regarding the status of striker Youssef En-Nesyri as transfer links continue to grow.
En-Nesyri arrived at Sevilla in January 2020 for a £17million fee and has since impressed for the Spanish outfit. The 23-year-old has netted 13 times in La Liga this season and has 4 European goals to his name so far.
And big European clubs have taken notice. West Ham United even had a £27million bid turned down in January for the striker, and now Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester United are monitoring the Moroccan.
Apart from the English clubs, Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with the striker. Sevilla, however, would want to tie him down to a new contract at the club and are under no pressure to sell.
Just last month, En-Nesyri’s agent told ABC (h/t Express) that his client was not looking to leave Seville.
“Youssef is very happy in Sevilla, very grateful to the club and his teammates, he feels the affection of the fans. He is happy. He is 23 years old, why would he want to leave? Not everything is money in life.”
Liverpool, like United, have also linked with a move for Erling Haaland. Roberto Firmino could soon have a competition for the No.9 spot at the club, and En-Nesyri is one of those on the radar. (h/t Express)
If Liverpool do manage to sign him, then it could turn out to be a great move. Firmino has next to no competition for the striker’s spot at the moment, with Divock Origi not trusted enough by Jurgen Klopp to hand him regular starts.
