A report by Goal (h/t The Express) mentions that eight Liverpool players no longer have a future at Anfield as they hope to complete a transfer away from Merseyside soon.
Divock Origi and Loris Karius are the two biggest names on the list. The Belgian striker is ‘set to leave’ amidst interest from European clubs while Karius, who has a year left on his Reds contract, is also expected to be sold.
Harry Wilson, Marko Grujic, Taiwo Awoniyi, Sheyi Ojo, Ben Woodburn and Liam Millar are the other names mentioned in the report, bringing the total tally to 8.
The Reds brought in two big names to the team last summer after winning the Premier League title. Diogo Jota and Thiago joined the Liverpool ranks as Jurgen Klopp aimed to attack the title once again.
But injuries ruined what could have been a great season for Liverpool. And despite a late push to finish in the top 4, the club would now look to strengthen the team in order to reclaim their crown next season.
Liverpool want to sign Ibrahima Konate, a midfielder to replace the outgoing Georginio Wijnaldum, and an out-and-out striker. And that is why these players could well be a way to boost the transfer kitty. (h/t The Express)
The report goes on to mention that there could be two more exits as the futures of Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino remain uncertain.
None of these names poses a massive threat to Liverpool because there are players within our squad to replace them. The biggest sale would probably be of Wijnaldum. The effects would be felt if the club do not sign a midfielder in the summer to replace him.
