La Liga behemoths willing to let £25m playmaker leave amidst Liverpool interest

Martin Odegaard allowed to leave Real Madrid amidst links with Liverpool

According to Goal (h/t Liverpool Echo), Real Madrid have allowed Martin Odegaard to leave this summer amidst links with the Premier League duo of Liverpool and Arsenal.

The 22-year-old is apparently keen on securing a move away from the Spanish capital this season and has suitors in the form of Liverpool, who could use some depth in the attacking areas.

With Xherdan Shaqiri nearing an exit from Liverpool, the Reds should be looking to replace the Swiss as soon as possible- if he leaves this summer. Moreover, Odegaard is also available for a fee of £25million

, which seems reasonable when one considers his age and talent.
Liverpool are back in the hunt for Martin Odegaard

Although the Merseyside outfit already have the likes of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi, and Sadio Mane in their frontline, they need quality cover in the attacking roles as the likes of Mane & Salah could be unavailable for selection for the entirety of next January due to their involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations

Additionally, Diogo Jota was also riddled with injury concerns last season, leaving the Reds a little scarce for cover in the attack – a problem Klopp will be looking to avoid this season. However, signing the player will not be an easy move as English rivals Arsenal

are also interested in securing the player’s services this summer.

Odegaard, who spent the second half of last season on loan to the Gunners, could return to the North London outfit. While that might be a possibility, Liverpool can offer the Norwegian Champions League football, something Arsenal cannot as they will be not be playing any European football this season.

More Liverpool News:

While the 22-year-old could choose to move to either club or even stay at Santiago Bernabeu, Liverpool should push as hard as possible to secure the player’s signature this summer if they really want to land the Norwegian playmaker ahead of other suitors.
