According to the Official Premier League website, Newcastle United and Premier League legend Alan Shearer insists that Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah is the best player in the world at the moment. The Egyptian scored a hat-trick in Liverpool’s 5-0 thumping of bitter rivals Manchester United.
Salah has had a terrific start this season and has continued that form when he faced United at Old Trafford. He was untouchable on the night when the Reds breezed past the Red Devils in a historical result.
Mo Salah has scored a ridiculous 15 goals and assisted five times in 12 appearances across all competitions. His hat-trick also made him the highest-scoring African in the Premier League history beating Didier Drogba.
Shearer adds that none of the defenders can handle Salah as he continues to perform at a level above everyone else. As a result, the Premier League top scorer has picked the Egyptian in his Premier League Team of the Week lineup.
“The best player on the planet right now. Nobody can live with Liverpool’s Egyptian king right now. A dazzling hat-trick in a Man-of-the-Match performance.”
The Egypt international became the first player
in the Merseyside club’s history to score in ten consecutive games. Earlier, he also became the first player in the Premier League history to score on the opening day in five consecutive seasons. As one of the most prolific goalscorers in Premier League history, Shearer is well aware of what it takes to become a serial goal-getter. He clearly sees what Salah brings to the table at Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp’s side will be hoping that the 29-year-old keeps this up throughout the season. This would ensure that they have the best chances to get multiple major titles in a single season.
