According to the Mirror, RB Salzburg sensation, Karim Adeyemi has handed a massive blow to Liverpool by admitting that his immediate future lies in Austria.
The German has become one of the best young forwards in the world and continues to go from strength to strength. The teenager earned the top spot in the Austrian Bundesliga scoring chart after bagging 18 goals in 28 appearances.
Furthermore, he also bagged four assists this season. Salzburg have qualified for the last 16 of the UEFA Champions League this season thanks to Adeyemi and co.
Liverpool has shown a considerable amount of interest in the teenage forward in recent times. However, the Merseyside team faced excessive competition from European elites.
It is believed that Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Borussia Dortmund are interested in luring the young attacker. However, the German player’s recent transfer stance has proved to be a disadvantage for the concerned teams.
The Salzburg forward suggested that a January move is highly probable as he is focusing on the task at hand.
“As is so often the case, nothing is decided yet, and, as I have said, I’ll also be at Salzburg next year, and that’s where my focus is on.”
The German starlet also revealed that he is not thinking about moving away from the Red Bull Arena and is optimistic about the Champions League next round.
“As I have said, I have no tendency [to leave]. My mind is here at Salzburg, and I’m looking forward to the Champions League with Salzburg.”
Even though Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane’s scintillating form has kept the dream of Kopites alive, the vaunted frontline is not getting any younger.
Add to it the fact that Roberto Firmino is also ageing, it is time for Jurgen Klopp to usher in the new generation of Reds stars.
Adeyemi could be a great help in this sector. This season, he has already scored against some big teams and will only continue to get better with age.
