Report: Liverpool place £17m price tag on in-demand Liverpool ace

Transfer News: Liverpool place hefty price tag on Takumi Minamino amidst Fulham and Wolves interest

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool have placed a £17million price tag on Takumi Minamino, with the forward struggling for regular playing time at the club.

The Japanese international moved to Liverpool from RB Salzburg in the middle of the 2019/20 season. But since then, he has struggled to become a regular starter under Jurgen Klopp.

Such was his struggle for minutes that Liverpool loaned him out in winter last year, where he then played for Southampton. But this season, things have been different.

The 27-year-old played a huge role in our FA Cup and EFL Cup triumph- the two trophies we managed to win this season. And now, Wolves and Fulham are linked with a move for him.

Minamino off to Wolves or Fulham?

Wolverhampton Wanderers are a strong team under Bruno Lage who would want to push for European places next season. The Cottagers, meanwhile, just earned promotion from the Championship this summer.

The price tag LFC are demanding could seem modest for some. But the Reds paid less than half of that when they brought him in from Austria around three years back for a £7.25million

fee.

Nevertheless, Minamino has come to England and showed that he can be an important player for teams such as Wolves and Fulham. His performance in the domestic cup competitions is evidence of that.

Nevertheless, it remains to be seen if teams are willing to pay such a fee for a player that hasn’t really become a regular first-team player for LFC in the past several years. But at 27, Minamino is still in his prime years.
