Fabrizio Romano: Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ‘focused on other deals’ amidst Ismaila Sarr interest

As per Liverpool Echo, the club’s long-term interests in Ismaila Sarr has not taken shape yet because of gaffer Jurgen Klopp’s focus on other deals.

The 24 year old has been a crucial part of Watford since his move to The Hornets in 2019. He has also been subject to a move to Anfield since 2020. His time at Vicarage Road has been fairly decent, scoring 25 goals and getting 19 assists in 94 appearances

Italian transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Klopp’s “focus” on other deals has been a hindrance in overseeing the Senegalese forward’s move to Liverpool. Given the lack of development in that regard, it is fair to say they Romano has got it right.

“Liverpool have followed him for years but have never made any proposals. Klopp’s focus is on other deals”.

The right-winger, very recently made news for scoring from his own half in a 1-1 draw to West Bromwich Albion on 9th August. He has one goal and an assist in this season’s league campaign so far.

He was fourth on the list of goal contributions

for the Hornets in the 2021/22 season. Watford were relegated back to the Championship but the Senegalese internal was a standout performer. Capable of playing anywhere on the frontlines, he would fit in well at Anfield.

Romano, in his Caught Offside column, compared Sarr’s style of play to his Senegalese “compatriot” Sadio Mane’s style of play. He also added about Mane having a “great career” at Anfield before moving to Bayern this summer.

Fans would pay top dollar to know about these “other deals” Jurgen Klopp is interested in as the club does not seem to be moving anymore in terms of transfers this summer. Sarr making a move this summer to Anfield seems doubtful to say the least because the Reds are stacked in the front line.
