Speaking in an interview as quoted by Liverpool Echo, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for talented English wonderkid Harvey Elliott with the teenager really catching the eye of the German boss.
One of the most highly-rated young English footballers in the Premier League at the moment, Elliott has looked like the best thing ever since he made the breakthrough into the first team for the Reds last season.
The 19-year-old joined Liverpool’s academy from the Fulham academy in 2019. He became a key player for Jurgen Klopp last season but a horrific injury really disrupted what was turning out to be a breakout season.
Elliott though, has started this season off in tremendous fashion. He has played all six games this season for Liverpool scoring one goal. He has impressed every time he has been on the pitch.
Speaking about his performances, Jurgen Klopp was unable to hide his excitement for the kind of player Elliott could become for Liverpool
“First and foremost he is a wonderfully-raised boy. When you see him playing you think ‘wow for a 19-year-old… We all forgot how good he was a year ago and he was a year younger before all the rubbish things happened.”
Klopp is right. People seem to have forgotten how good Harvey Elliott can be but the Englishman seems to be wasting no time in remaining the entire footballing world how good he can be.
At 19, it is important to remember that Harvey Elliott is still very young. He has his entire footballing career in front of him and with the right development, he could turn out into a very special player.
The sky is the limit for Harvey Elliott. He is a potential superstar for the future and it is only a question of when and not if, he will become one for Liverpool. Exciting times lie ahead for the youngster and the Reds.
