South American ace hopes Liverpool star won’t make the same mistake he made at Anfield

Luis Suarez advising Darwin Nunez to avoid making his mistakes at Liverpool

According to The Mirror, Uruguayan legend Luis Suarez has revealed that he gives Liverpool star Darwin Nunez advice on how to not make the same mistakes he made while on Merseyside.

The 23-year-old moved to Anfield last summer from SL Benfica and initially struggled to come to terms with the English game. To his credit, Nunez has since thrived and is today a much more confident player.

The effect is not lost on Suarez who has predicted a successful career for his countryman at Anfield. He also admitted

to being in constant touch with Nunez, offering him tidbits of advice.

“He has exploded – and I am sure there will be many goals and trophies for him there. I speak with him regularly. I want him to help him, for him to learn from my mistakes.”

Suarez’s time at Liverpool was without a doubt successful. Replacing Fernando Torres at Anfield was no easy task but the Uruguayan made the task look easy.

However, his sting was also intermixed with several controversies that painted the club and player in a bad light. He eventually moved to Barcelona in 2014 and continued to impress at the top level. The 35-year-old will partner Nunez in what could be the latter’s last World Cup in Qatar.

Nunez has nine goals and two assists in 18 games for Liverpool in all competitions. He was impressive in recent games and is likely to only get better once he returns from Qatar.

Nunez is the focal attacking point that the club have lacked for years, an infallible goalscorer that we have craved. Now that he is hitting his stride, it remains to be seen just how far he can go.
