Liverpool left-back Kostas Tsimikas hoping for all three points vs Brentford

Liverpool star Kostas Tsimikas is looking forward to the trip to West London to face Thomas Frank’s Brentford side at the GTech Community Stadium. The 26-year-old Greek international has grown into his role and has been giving Andy Robertson a push for his place in the starting XI for the last year or so.

The former Olympiacos player featured against Leicester City in the Reds’ 2-1 win against them and is in major contention to start against Brentford as well following Robbo’s dead leg situation towards the end of the game against Brendan Rodgers’ side at Anfield.

Tsimi has made 23 appearances across all competitions this season already and also has five assists

to his name. If there is one department in the entire team wherein the Reds could say that the depth is more than sufficient, it is left-back as Robbo and Tsimi both, have been excellent for the Reds in the past, and continue to put in those 8/10 performances on a consistent basis.

Speaking to the club’s official website ahead of the crunch league match against Brentford, here is what Kostas said:

“All the teams in the Premier League are quite strong. Brentford this year did a very good job.”

“We’re really looking forward to this game. I think all the boys will be ready to face Brentford and hopefully we go there and win the game, this is what we [want to] do in all the games we play, so it will not change anything – we go there and [try to] win the game.”

Heading into the fixture against the Bees, Liverpool find themselves in the sixth spot, and are on a four-match unbeaten run in the league and would hope to continue the streak for as long as possible and if Kostas sees himself in the starting XI, he will be absolutely crucial in helping Liverpool do the same.

The left-back made his 50th appearance for the Reds across competitions when he came on against the Foxes and in that short duration, he has accumulated 11 assists as well. He would hope to make the 51st one a game to remember as well.

Liverpool’s FA Cup hero is a star and a wonderful player and a character to have in and around the team. The ‘Greek Scouser’ is an absolute fan favourite and would hope to start and finish more games for the Reds in the coming years.
