Stats highlight the importance of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones as the Reds dominate Chelsea at Anfield

Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones continues his impressive performance during the win against Chelsea as stats underline his importance. The Reds beat Chelsea 4-1 in the Premier League showdown at Anfield, staying put at the top of the table.

Liverpool dominated the complete game in all phases, keeping possession and winning the ball back with strong counter-pressing. Jones started the game alongside Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister as the trio controlled the whole game.

The 23-year-old has featured dominantly at the left side of the midfield three, controlling the game and bombing forward. Along with being a goal threat, creating chances and recycling possession, he has also contributed to the defensive phases.

Curtis has made 25 appearances in all competitions this season, contributing with five goals and three assists so far. After the last season’s struggle, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp revamped the midfield with numerous top-class signings.

Nevertheless, Jones has proven his capability to be a regular player in the current squad which is remarkably diverse. Each player brings something different to the table and that has helped Klopp build a strong consistency.

Jones has further evolved his game, refining the raw talent that everyone knew he possessed. He has also matured with game experience, showing fantastic awareness towards what the team need according to the situation.

The swing of an incredible, plus 1.71 xG per 90 minutes which proves his importance to the team this season.

The Reds are currently at the top of the Premier League table and have successfully progressed in every competition. Klopp has used his squad in rotation, providing healthy game-time to each player and giving opportunities to youngsters.
