Harvey Elliott highlights the important qualities of Darwin Nunez as the duo combine to help Liverpool seize an important victory

The Reds midfielder Harvey Elliott praised the immense qualities of Darwin Nunez as they combined to seize an important victory. Liverpool beat Burnley 3-1 in the Premier League clash at Anfield on Saturday to retain the top Premier League position.

Elliott played a vital role in the Reds’ victory after coming on for vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold in the halftime. He created the second goal for Liverpool, taking the scoreline to 2-1 and then assisted Nunez for the third goal.

Darwin has faced criticism for missing many easy chances this season but maintains a high level of productivity. He contributes a lot to the overall gameplay for the Reds, not just restricted to productivity.

Harvey told Liverpoolfc.com that Nunez provides a high work ethic alongside immense technical qualities and finishing ability. He said:

“He proved it today, he can score with his head, he can score with left and right foot, his knee, his shoulder, whatever it is! He’s an unbelievable player and you’re seeing many, many things from him this season. On top of that, he works his socks off, you see how much he ran today and worked for the team. It’s a credit to him and it’s a pleasure to play with someone like him.”

Nunez has made 36 appearances so far in all competitions, contributing with 12 goals and 11 assists this season. He has played as a lead striker and as a left winger for the Reds, showing versatility.

The 24-year-old plays with a desire to help his teammates selflessly and creates continuous chaos in the opposition half. His non-stop involvement generates a constant threat and numerous chances for the Reds to capitalize and score goals.
