The unlikely scenario where Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola collide one last time in the English Premier League

According to Liverpool Echo, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp could face Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola in the English Premier League. The historical rivalry between the two managers in England could have one showdown to decide the title’s fate.

Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp have collided since their time in the Bundesliga when they managed Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund respectively. The duo moved to the Premier League and continued pushing each other to become one of the best managers.

Klopp has maintained the edge over Guardiola in their head-to-head record by winning eight games against Pep’s seven wins. However, the Spaniard enjoyed more trophy success, continuing the dominance of Man City in the domestic league.

Man City have won 16 major trophies which include five Premier League titles separated by Liverpool’s title win in 2019-20. Meanwhile, Klopp achieved eight titles after recently securing the Carabao Cup victory over Chelsea, his second during the current tenure.

Despite the limited resources at Liverpool compared to those at City, the 56-year-old has kept the club competitive. Klopp created a culture that allows academy players a healthy amount of opportunity while balancing daunting ambitions. The Liverpool boss has constantly used the academy instead of dipping into the transfer market during the injury crisis.

At the same time, Guardiola has enjoyed the luxury of splashing money on big talents like Matheus Nunes, and Josko Gvardiol. Nevertheless, the Spaniard has barely used many high-valued signings as they merely act as backup to the first team.

The Citizens are facing 115 charges for financial breaches that happened over the last decade. They have evaded the repercussions while football fans are awaiting the final judgment on the allegations with clear pieces of evidence.

Liverpool Echo shared that the possibility in which both Liverpool and Man City share points and goal difference in the end, they would have to face each other in a playoff at a neutral ground to determine the title winner.

Both Klopp and Guardiola restricted each other to 1-1 draw during the away and home games this season. Nevertheless, the chances of the playoffs between the two clubs are highly unlikely and Arsenal has a huge say in the matter.
