Impressive Liverpool youngster feels ‘privileged’ after getting off the mark for his country

Liverpool star Conor Bradley buzzing after scoring his first goal for Northern Ireland against Scotland during the March international break

Conor Bradley scored his first goal for Northern Ireland against Scotland, capitalizing on his steep rise at Liverpool this season. Bradley’s first goal acted as the winner in the friendly match against Scotland involving Andy Robertson which ended 1-0.

Bradley has played an important role since the Reds faced a severe injury crisis, establishing himself at the senior level. Liverpool lost vice-captain Trent Alexander-Arnold to a torn lateral knee ligament injury in January, resulting in Bradley getting the opportunity.

The Northern Ireland international lived up to the faith shown by Jurgen Klopp and delivered immediately for the club. He played an important 15-minute cameo against Arsenal at Emirates in the FA Cup tie which Liverpool won 0-2.

Bradley delivered the man-of-the-match performance against Fulham in the 1-1 Carabao Cup semi-finals’ second leg. Furthermore, he delivered another spectacular man-of-the-match performance in the 4-1 Premier League win over Chelsea at Anfield.

The 20-year-old scored his first senior team goal against the London rivals and provided two assists, proving his worth. He has a crucial role in winning the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea and securing a trophy for the Reds.

Bradley has made 18 appearances for Liverpool this season in all competitions, contributing with a goal and six assists. He has shown brilliant stamina and positioning sense to fulfil his defensive duties while being a constant threat.

The Irishman brought his consistent form to the international level against Scotland, scoring the winner for his country. Speaking to Viaplay Sports UK (h/t YouTube), Bradley expressed his job for scoring his first international-level goal. He said:

“It’s a privilege to score my first goal for my country, so yeah, I’m buzzing!”

Bradley returns to Liverpool to play Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League clash on Sunday. The Reds are currently second in the Premier League table, behind Arsenal in goal difference with Manchester City closely behind. They will also play Atalanta in the Europa League quarter-finals in April, continuing their desire to win both trophies.
