Liverpool, still reeling from their second loss of the season to the persistently inconsistent Tottenham, have faced further setbacks with the collapse of Federico Chiesa’s potential transfer. The club has yet to announce any contract discussions with Mohamed Salah, prompting speculation about a future beyond their talisman. Meanwhile, several journalists have shared updates on Napoli’s Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, a player who has reportedly caught Liverpool’s attention.

Liverpool are gearing up for an active transfer window in 2025 following a subdued first summer under Arne Slot. While their attack is considered their strongest asset on paper, rumours continue to circulate about potential forward signings. With Mohamed Salah, Cody Gakpo, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa in the squad, the Reds currently boast a stacked offensive line. However, recent links suggest Liverpool may have just received a boost in their pursuit of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kvara poised to leave Napoli, preferring Prem football

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who rose to prominence after leading Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years, has established himself as one of Europe’s top wingers. Since joining the Italian side from Georgia in 2022, he has contributed to 59 goals in 107 appearances. The Georgian international, whose national teammate Giorgi Mamardashvili is set to join Liverpool this summer, has played a pivotal role for Napoli under Luciano Spalletti. However, he has yet to agree to a new contract with the club.

Fabrizio Romano reported that Kvaratskhelia is holding off on a renewal, with PSG also vying for his signature. While in his recent tweet, esteemed journalist David Ornstein adds that Liverpool could consider a move for the 23-year-old if he becomes available in January. While the Reds aren’t actively pursuing a winger, they admire Kvaratskhelia and remain alert to the situation, with PSG and Chelsea also in the mix.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has proven himself as an exceptional talent, with his achievements for both club and country speaking volumes. Despite his brilliance, most of his standout performances have come as a left-winger, a position where Liverpool already have ample depth.
