Liverpool bounced back to winning form with a late victory against Brentford, as Nunez scored twice in the final minutes. Despite this on-pitch success, the ongoing contract disputes involving Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold are prompting the Reds to focus on securing reinforcements for next summer.

Liverpool have been keeping an eye on the promising Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, who is sought after but under-exposed by other big clubs and fans in respect of his performances over the last 18 months. Mbeumo has been really amazing throughout having aggregated 17 goals and an equal number of assists in 26 matches in all competitions played in the course of this season.

Liverpool takes initial steps toward signing Bryan Mbeumo.

Mbeumo, who made the move to Brentford from Troyes, has truly made a name for himself as a Premier League talent and has been instrumental in Brentford’s achievements in the top tier. With 226 appearances and 108 goal contributions under his belt, he has become a vital player for the Bees.

While a transfer during the winter window isn’t on the table, as reported by Graeme Bailey and Rousing the Kop, Mbeumo is anticipated to depart the Gtech Community Stadium next summer. Brentford is already looking at potential replacements, with names like Takefusa Kubo and Antoine Semenyo coming up.

Mbeumo boasts solid Premier League experience, having netted 22 league goals since the beginning of last season—a figure that surpasses Liverpool forwards Luis Díaz, Diogo Jota, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Núñez. While replacing Mohamed Salah would be an incredibly tough task, Mbeumo has demonstrated the ability to rise to such a challenge. Even though Salah’s exit from Anfield hasn’t been confirmed, and fans are hopeful he will stay with Liverpool for many more years, Bryan Mbeumo could be a strong option to step in if the Egyptian King’s time at Merseyside comes to a close.
