“We don’t care what the world think” – Klopp not concerned about comments on Reds’ spending spree

Jurgen Klopp caused a bit of a storm with his comments about Manchester United spending £89.3m to sign Paul Pogba from Juventus. Now, when the German has also spent a good amount of money on new players, he says he does not care what others think about the deals.

Klopp was speaking before the pre-season match against Borussia Dortmund and he touched upon the fact that we had signed the most expensive goalkeeper, Alisson

, from AS Roma a few days ago. He also claimed that no one forgets what people say:

“That’s a problem, whatever bulls*** you say, no one will forget it”, he was quoted by the Express.

“£100m was a crazy number but since then the world changed. We signed the most expensive goalkeeper, bam bam, there will be a few nice transfers (from others)”

The German did concede that we had to spend to improve the side.

“To improve a squad like this costs money.

“We don’t care what the world think, like Manchester United didn’t care what I thought.”

Alisson

Klopp had stated a couple of years ago that he would like to do things differently and possibly not spend so much money but that is certainly not what we are doing now.

However, we have to back Klopp on this one. To improve our side, we cannot look to develop all the players available.

Liverpool have to invest to bring the best players in the world and the transfer market become inflated.

Should Klopp win a title or two with this side, it would shut up some of the critics but this has always been the story with Liverpool. We always get slated for whatever we do.
