Adam Lallana

Despite his contract originally being set to expire at the end of this month, midfielder will be seeing the season out with Liverpool after agreeing to a short term deal that will run until the conclusion of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign. It means that Lallana will likely leave Anfield with a Premier League and Champions League Winners’ Medal to his name, along with further wins in the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup. Now 32, Lallana’s best years may be behind him but there is still plenty of interest in the former England international, who could be more than serviceable for a number of Premier League clubs.

We will be taking a look at those currently linked with a move for Liverpool’s number 20 and the current odds associated with the teams chasing him. Leicester City – 1/2

Leicester City are the odds-on favourites to sign Lallana with the bookies at this moment in time, with Brendan Rodgers interested in linking up with the midfielder that he originally whilst he was at the helm at Anfield. Lallana’s technical abilities look a perfect fit for the style of play at the King Power Stadium and a move to Leicester looks the most likely next step in his career.

Newcastle – 4/1

Newcastle are second in the betting ranks, currently being priced at 4/1 to sign Lallana on a free transfer. Despite the pending huge funds that are set to be pummelled in at Newcastle, Lallana on a free would be a solid addition to a team that has struggled when it comes to creativity in the final third.

Southampton – 14/1

The odds begin to drift pretty significantly once you get past Newcastle, with Lallana’s former club Southampton a 14/1 outsider to complete a homecoming for the 32-year-old. He rose to prominence during his time at St. Mary’s, being one of the stars of the squad that rose from League One to the Premier League and made 265 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 60 goals.

Leeds – 14/1

Leeds could be an interesting footballing option for Lallana should the Yorkshire club win promotion to the Premier League. Marcelo Bielsa’s ideology isn’t too dissimilar from Jurgen Klopp’s and you would anticipate that he would be a regular in their side should he become a member of their squad in the top flight.

Arsenal – 16/1

Arsenal are another outside option in the betting market, with the size of Mikel Arteta’s transfer budget this summer still remaining to be seen. They could do far worse than sign Lallana on a free transfer, having struggled to really nail down a settled midfield combination this season under Arteta and Unai Emery.
