Liverpool reach agreement with Thiago Alcantara

According to reputed journalist Constantin Eckner, Premier League champions Liverpool have reached an agreement with Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara over a summer switch.

However, the Reds are still short of Bayern’s valuation of the player. Eckner claims that Liverpool have offered €25m for the services of the Spanish international. But the German champions are holding out for a transfer fee over €30m.

Thiago has been linked with Liverpool

The 29-year-old Thiago is one of the best central midfielders in the game currently. Since joining Bayern Munich from Barcelona in 2013, the Spaniard has scaled great heights and achieved plenty of success in Germany.

Thiago was one of Bayern’s best players as they romped home to the UEFA Champions League triumph this season. However, with his contract expiring next year, his future has become a subject of intense transfer speculation.

Liverpool have been touted as Thiago’s next possible destination for a while now. However, there hasn’t been any major development on that front up until now. It had been even claimed that the Reds could decide to wait until January to sign the midfielder on a pre-contract agreement.

But, Eckner is now claiming that the Premier League champions have already reached an agreement with the player, although the club is still short on Bayern’s transfer fee demand.

It goes without saying that if a player of Thiago’s quality is on the market, we should do everything in our power to sign him. A top performer for years, the 29-year-old would elevate our squad to the next level with his quality and winning mentality.

However, it remains to be seen whether the club is able to come to an agreement with Bayern over the transfer fee.
