According to the Daily Star, Manchester United believes their recruitment of Ralf Rangnick will give them an edge in the pursuit of Liverpool target Florian Wirtz

The young German has been this season’s breakout star in the Bundesliga. The 18-year-old wonderkid has been sensational for Bayer Leverkusen and has already bagged eight goals and 11 assists in 21 appearances. Wirtz has attracted attention in the transfer market due to his impressive performances. 

Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Liverpool were all interested in the starlet. But it is believed that the Man United hierarchy sees Rangnick’s presence as an advantage

in the race. The Red Devils believe the current manager is a respected figure in Germany and would give them an edge in the negotiation phase for Florian Wirtz. 

Liverpool’s midfield currently looks super solid. But if you view the scenario, five years from now, there are not many optimistic sides to the story. Jordan Henderson, Thiago Alcantara and James Milner have all already crossed the 30-year mark. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita meanwhile have had rotten luck with injuries.

The only young alternative in the midfield lineup currently is Curtis Jones. Thus, fresh legs could bolster Jurgen Klopp’s lineup in the seasons to come. 

On the other hand, Florian Wirtz’s conversation rate is top-notch. No Liverpool midfielder has been as successful in front of goal as the Leverkusen wonderkid. Thus, signing the 18-year-old Jurgen Klopp will get a robust attacking option.
