Liverpool might have already found a worthy successor to Jurgen Klopp

All the clouds surrounding Anfield seem to be dark today as Jurgen Klopp announced his decision to step down as Liverpool head coach. However, the Reds might have found their silver lining just hours after the German manager announced his decision.

Xabi Alonso who has recently been on a tear with his Bayer Leverkusen side, actually has a former club clause in his contract. According to Skysports, this clause allows the former Liverpool man to join either the Reds, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich.

The Spanish manager would be a terrific signing for Liverpool. His recent triumphs at the helm of Bayer Leverkusen should be enough to tell people about his quality as a manager.

The Bundesliga has always been dominated by Bayern Munich, that was until Alonso joined Bayer Leverkusen. In just his second season at the helm, the Spaniard has led the team to the top of the table and they are currently sitting four points ahead of Munich.

If Alonso can achieve such a result with the Leverkusen squad, imagine the kind of carnage that he can cause with the Liverpool squad, which is full of world-class talents. The Premier League title may finally stop being elusive with the Spaniard at the helm.

Xabi Alonso replacing Jurgen Klopp at the helm of Liverpool is almost a dream-like scenario and sounds too good to be true. However, the possibility of it happening looks to be very real at the moment.
