Social Mobility Initiative, launched by Liverpool star Trent Alexander Arnold, has now raised more than £1 million with the help of Jamie Carragher

It’s a very tough period going on for the Reds’ star, as it is about to be two months now since Trent Alexander-Arnold last kicked a ball for Liverpool.

The 25-year-old has missed the club’s previous ten games due to a knee injury, causing immense dissatisfaction as Jurgen Klopp‘s team pursues Premier League and Europa League glory alongside their Carabao Cup victory.

Alexander-Arnold, who is close to making a comeback, has kept himself busy while on the sidelines. Three years ago, he collaborated with Jamie Carragher and Liverpool business leaders to establish the social mobility program Football For Change.

The program has the purpose of giving initiative to youngsters around the age of 16, 17, and 18 who are not in education, employment, or training and in challenged communities who face barriers to achieving their full potential.

Through a variety of major fundraising activities, Football for Change will distribute grants to organizations supporting young people of school-leaving age in the most deprived areas of the North West, with a particular focus on supporting them in education, employment, and training.

More than £1 million has been raised since, with the aim of transforming the lives of disadvantaged youngsters through education, employment, and sport. Last week, Alexander-Arnold was the guest of honor at Football For Change’s Easter lunch at the city’s Royal Liver Building.

Alexander-Arnold explains that his parents have always taught him to give back and help the less fortunate. Now that he is at a stage in his life where he is able to help others, he decided to set up the ‘Football for Change’ program.

People like Alexander-Arnold are the ones who truly help and give something back to the community that made them who they are in their lives. These people are the real ‘difference-makers.’

Liverpool would be hoping and wishing for a speedy recovery for Trent, as it has been really long since he last played for the club. However, it is good to see the star doing something valuable with his time on the sidelines and not just sitting idle.
